Infectious Diseases Consultant, Royal Centre For Defence Medicine
Dr Kate Clay is a Military Infectious Diseases Consultant working at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, University Hospitals Birmingham. She is the Clinical Biodefence Lead for the Military and sits as the UK representative on the NATO Biodefence Medical Panel. She is a Senior Lecturer in CBRN Medicine and co-ordinates the UK Defence Medical Services Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Medicine research programme. She has deployed many times with the Military to Afghanistan, Sierra leone in support of the Ebola epidemic, Turkey following the recent Earthquake and Sudan in support of the Non Combatant Evacuation Operation in 2023.
