Jack Gilbert is a Professor in Pediatrics and at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Associate Vice Chancellor for Marine Science, and director of the Microbiome and Metagenomics Center. He co-founded the Earth Microbiome Project and American Gut Project, has over 450 peer-reviewed publications, and is Editor in Chief of mSystems. Jack co-authored "Dirt is Good" in 2017 and founded BiomeSense Inc in 2018. He leads the NIH's $175M Nutrition for Precision Medicine program at UCSD and won the 2023 IFF Microbiome Science Prize.
